Trigger WhatsApp messages from your own systems

Send data from any system you already run, and trigger a WhatsApp message from it. Our platform already runs on webhooks internally for message delivery, this exposes that same infrastructure to you.

How it works

Set up Webhook APIs in 3 steps

Here is how the integration is designed to work once it launches.

  1. Step 01

    Create your webhook

Generate a webhook URL and secret for your account.

  2. Step 02

    Point your system at it

Point your system's outgoing webhook at that URL.

  3. Step 03

    We trigger the message

We receive the event and trigger the automation or message you've configured for it.

Capabilities

What you can do with Webhook APIs

The core jobs this integration takes off your plate.

Trigger messages from any system

If your system can send an HTTP POST, it can trigger a WhatsApp message.

Built on infrastructure we already run

Our own message-delivery pipeline is webhook-based end to end, so this isn't a bolted-on afterthought.

Example messages

Messages that send themselves

A few examples of what Webhook APIs events could send to your customers on WhatsApp. Every message uses a template you write and Meta approves.

  • Appointment booked

Your booking system posts the event and the customer gets a confirmation on WhatsApp.

  • Account event

Your app posts a status change, such as a plan renewal, and the matching template goes out.

  • Ticket updated

Your helpdesk or internal tool sends an update when a ticket changes status.

Benefits

Why connect Webhook APIs

Less manual follow-up, faster answers and customers who always know what is happening.

Works with any stack

CRMs, booking tools, ERPs or your own backend. If it can send an HTTP POST, it can trigger a message.

Secured with a secret

Each account gets its own webhook URL and secret, so only your systems can trigger your messages.

Reuse your automations

Incoming events can start the same automations and templates you already set up in WP Tool.

No new infrastructure

Point an outgoing webhook you already have at your URL instead of building a WhatsApp integration yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you get started

Clear answers to the most common questions about WP Tool, the WhatsApp Business API, billing and support.

Are the Webhook APIs available today?
Not yet. They are on our roadmap and marked as coming soon. Get notified at launch and we will share the documentation when it is ready.
What do I need to send to the webhook?
An HTTP POST from your system to the URL generated for your account. The event data is then used to trigger the automation or message you configured.
How are webhook requests secured?
Each account gets its own webhook URL and secret. Keep the secret private and rotate it if you think it has been exposed.
Can a webhook send any message I want?
Messages sent outside an open customer conversation still need a WhatsApp template approved by Meta, and the contact must have opted in.
Should I use webhooks or Zapier?
Use Zapier or Integrately for no-code connections to popular apps. Use webhooks when you want to connect your own systems or backend directly.
Do I need a developer?
You need someone who can set up an outgoing webhook in your system. Many tools offer this in their settings without code. For no-code connections to popular apps, use Zapier or Integrately.
