How it works

From number to printed QR code

Create, download and test your code in under a minute.

  1. Step 01

    Enter your number

Add your WhatsApp number with the country code. The QR code appears as soon as the number is in.

  2. Step 02

    Add a message

Optionally pre-fill a message, such as the product or location the customer scanned, so you know the context.

  3. Step 03

    Download the PNG

Save the QR code as an image and test it with your phone camera before sending it to print.

  4. Step 04

    Print and display

Place it where customers will see it: on packaging, receipts, counters, posters or event badges.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you get started

Clear answers to the most common questions about WP Tool, the WhatsApp Business API, billing and support.

What does a WhatsApp QR code do?
When someone scans it with their phone camera, it opens a WhatsApp chat with your number, with your pre-filled message ready to send. They do not need to type or save your number.
Is the QR code generator free?
Yes. It is free, requires no signup and you can create and download as many QR codes as you like.
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code simply contains a wa.me link, so it keeps working as long as your number is active on WhatsApp.
What size should I print it?
For most print materials, keep the code at least 2 cm wide, and larger for posters viewed from a distance. Leave a clear white margin around it and always test a printed sample before a big run.
Can I change the message after printing?
No. The number and message are encoded in the image itself. To change them, generate a new QR code and replace the printed version.
What format is the download?
You get a PNG image that works in most design tools, documents and print workflows.
